Itinerary

There are journeys that take you somewhere, and then there are journeys that change you. Walking El Camino de Santiago is the latter. For over a thousand years, pilgrims from every corner of the world have followed these ancient paths through the green hills of Galicia, drawn by something deep and hard to name. Now it is your turn. Together with a small group of like-minded women, you will lace up your boots, step onto that timeworn trail, and discover exactly what this legendary route has meant to millions of souls before you.

This nine-day adventure begins in the electric energy of Madrid, where golden-lit plazas, world-class art, and the rhythm of Spanish life will welcome you warmly. Then the real journey begins, as you travel into the lush, misty landscapes of Galicia and walk the final stages of the Camino across four magnificent days. Ancient stone paths wind through chestnut forests, tiny villages offer café stops and warm smiles, and every step brings you closer to one of the most breathtaking arrivals in all of travel.

Standing at last in the Plaza del Obradoiro before the soaring Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, surrounded by your fellow travelers and the weight of a thousand years of history, you will feel something shift. That is what the Camino does. And when you finally raise a glass at your farewell dinner in Santiago, you will know that what you have walked away with, the friendships, the strength, the quiet joy of having done something remarkable, will stay with you long after you return home.

As the golden afternoon light fades over Madrid's rooftops, gather with your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner featuring the warm, savory flavors of authentic Spanish cuisine. Over shared plates and your first glasses of Spanish wine, introductions are made, laughter comes easily, and the promise of the adventure ahead fills the room.

DAY 2 - MAY 19 | THE TREASURES OF MADRID

Madrid rewards those who look closely, and this morning your expert guide will lead you through the city's most magnificent landmarks. Wander the grand halls of the Royal Palace, stroll the historic Plaza Mayor with its centuries of stories etched into every archway, and breathe in the tranquility of beautiful Retiro Park, where locals row lazily across the lake on sunny mornings. After a leisurely lunch, the afternoon is entirely your own. You might follow the elegant stretch of Gran Via for some window shopping, lose yourself in one of the world's great art museums, or simply find a sunny plaza café and watch Madrid life unfold around you over a long, unhurried coffee and a plate of tapas.

DAY 3 - MAY 20 | JOURNEY INTO GALICIA

This morning you leave the bustle of Madrid behind and travel north into a different Spain entirely. The approximately five-and-a-half-hour journey carries you into Galicia, a land of Celtic roots, misty green valleys, and granite villages draped in moss and quiet dignity. You will stop along the way for a relaxed lunch before arriving mid-afternoon in Palas de Rei, the charming town that marks the start of your Camino walking days. After settling into your traditional guesthouse, the evening brings a meaningful moment as you meet your local pilgrimage guide and gather as a group to prepare yourselves, practically and emotionally, for the days ahead.

DAY 4 - MAY 21 | FIRST STEPS ON THE CAMINO | PALAS DE REI TO MELIDE

The moment arrives. You step onto the Camino de Santiago for the first time, and the ancient path stretches ahead of you through a landscape that feels timeless and alive. Today's walk covers approximately 15 kilometers from Palas de Rei to Melide, winding through small stone villages, dappled forests, and the quiet Galician countryside that pilgrims have crossed for over a thousand years. The rhythm of walking together brings an easy intimacy, and somewhere between the crunch of gravel underfoot and the damp, earthy scent of the trees, conversation flows freely. Lunch is at a local café along the way, and this evening a traditional Galician dinner warms you from the inside out.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Accommodations: Local Guesthouse (or Equivalent)

DAY 5 - MAY 22 | FARMLANDS AND FORESTS | MELIDE TO ARZÚA

Your legs are finding their strength and your spirit is finding its rhythm as you set out this morning on the 15-kilometer walk from Melide to Arzúa. The path carries you through open farmland, fragrant eucalyptus groves, and scattered villages where locals nod in knowing recognition at the passing pilgrims. This is the Galicia that feels untouched, a landscape of soft greens and grey stone, of wooden granaries and wildflowers along the path edges. There are stops in charming villages for coffee and a rest, moments of comfortable silence and moments of genuine laughter shared among your group. By the time dinner is served tonight, the Camino has well and truly gotten into your bones, in the best possible way.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Accommodations: Local Guesthouse (or Equivalent)

DAY 6 - MAY 23 | DRAWING CLOSER | ARZÚA TO O PEDROUZO

Today's walk is the longest yet, approximately 19 kilometers from Arzúa to O Pedrouzo, and there is a quiet electricity in the air as you set out. Santiago is close now. The path moves through pine forests and rolling green hillsides, and with every kilometer your group draws closer together and closer to your destination. This is a day for walking with intention, for reflecting on the journey each woman has made to be here, from wherever life brought her to this remarkable path. The afternoon and evening in O Pedrouzo offer time to rest sore feet, share stories, and let the anticipation for tomorrow quietly build.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Accommodations: Local Guesthouse (or Equivalent)

DAY 7 - MAY 24 | ARRIVAL AT THE CATHEDRAL | O PEDROUZO TO SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

This is the day. The final 19 kilometers from O Pedrouzo unfold through forest and farmland before the city begins to appear around you. And then, after four days of walking, after every step and shared laugh and moment of wonder on this ancient path, you arrive. You walk into the Plaza del Obradoiro and look up at the soaring twin towers of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, just as pilgrims have done for over a thousand years. The feeling is profound and personal and utterly unforgettable. Tears are common here, and so is joy. The afternoon is yours to explore the magnificent medieval old town and celebrate this remarkable achievement with your travel companions.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Accommodations: Hotel Monumental (or Equivalent)

DAY 8 - MAY 25 | YOUR DAY IN SANTIAGO

Today belongs entirely to you. Sleep a little later than usual, linger over a slow breakfast, and then let Santiago reveal itself at whatever pace feels right. The cobblestone streets of the historic old town are made for wandering, full of artisan shops, hidden plazas, and little cafés where you can sit for hours watching the world drift by. Visit the cathedral again at your leisure, browse for local crafts to bring home, or simply find a quiet corner of a sunlit plaza and let the extraordinary week you have just lived wash over you. This evening, the whole group gathers for a festive farewell dinner, a joyful celebration of the journey you have shared and the friendships you have built.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Accommodations: Hotel Monumental (or Equivalent)

DAY 9 - MAY 26 | UNTIL WE WALK AGAIN | DEPARTURE

After a final breakfast together, your group boards the train back to Madrid before transferring to Adolfo Suárez Airport for your international flights home. As the Spanish countryside rolls past the window, there is time to sit quietly with everything this journey has given you: the physical triumph of the Camino, the warmth of Santiago's golden stone streets, and the faces of the women who walked every kilometer beside you. Please note that your international flight must depart after 3pm local time to allow sufficient travel time from Santiago de Compostela to Madrid.
