Itinerary

Picture yourself standing on the ramparts of Edinburgh Castle, the grey stone city spreading below you like a living map of centuries past. Ancient cobblestones lead you through alleyways where Mary Queen of Scots once walked, and the distant skirl of bagpipes drifts through the crisp summer air. This is Scotland, and for seven glorious days, it is entirely yours to discover.

From Edinburgh's medieval grandeur, you and your fellow travelers will journey deep into the wild heart of the Highlands, trading city streets for misty glens and shimmering lochs. You'll scan the legendary dark waters of Loch Ness for a famous shadow, stand beneath the soaring arches of the Glenfinnan Viaduct, and ride two of the world's most breathtaking train routes through landscapes that feel like something out of a fairy tale. Glasgow welcomes you at the end with Victorian elegance and warm Scottish hospitality.

Scotland has a way of getting under your skin. It's the smell of peat smoke on a cool evening, the golden light falling across a loch at dusk, and the easy laughter of new friends sharing a dram of whisky after a day of adventure. You'll leave with stories to tell and friendships to keep for a lifetime.

Take a little time to settle in, freshen up, and drink in the first impressions of this remarkable place. Then it's time to meet the extraordinary women who will become your travel companions for the week. DAY 2 - EDINBURGH EXPLORATION

This morning belongs to one of the most magnificent cities in all of Europe. With a knowledgeable local guide at your side, you'll step inside the towering walls of Edinburgh Castle, perched high on volcanic rock above the city with views that stretch for miles. From there, stroll the Royal Mile, the ancient spine of the Old Town, where every close and courtyard hides centuries of history waiting to be uncovered. You'll pause at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official Scottish residence of the King, and hear the stories of the queens and kings who shaped this city into what it is today. By the time evening falls, you'll feel Edinburgh begin to settle into your heart.

DAY 3 - FREE DAY IN EDINBURGH

Today is yours. Edinburgh is a city that rewards the curious, and your fellow travelers will scatter across it in delightful ways. Perhaps you'll wander through the National Museum of Scotland, where five thousand years of Scottish history unfold across magnificent galleries, or duck into the Camera Obscura for its playful, mind-bending views over the rooftops. Political history buffs may gravitate toward the Scottish Parliament, while shoppers and foodies will find no shortage of temptations along the cobbled streets of Grassmarket. In the evening, the group gathers again to share the day's discoveries over a delicious dinner of local Scottish fare, the table alive with laughter and stories.

DAY 4 - INTO THE WILDS OF SCOTLAND

This morning, you board a comfortable train and Scotland reveals herself in an entirely new way. As the city falls away behind you, the landscape opens into a sweeping panorama of rolling hills, ancient forest, and glittering rivers. The train carries you north to Inverness, the proud capital of the Highlands, where the air feels different and the pace shifts to something quieter and more ancient. After checking into your accommodation, a local guide joins you for an afternoon walking tour through the historic city streets, sharing the stories of its Celtic roots, its warrior past, and its enduring Highland spirit. The evening settles in gently over the River Ness.

DAY 5 - LOCH NESS, GLENFINNAN VIADUCT & FORT WILLIAM

Few days in travel compare to this one. You'll set out along the shores of Loch Ness, that legendary stretch of dark, peat-stained water where mystery lives just beneath the surface. Stop at the Loch Ness Visitor Centre to learn the full story of Scotland's most famous myth, then walk to the water's edge and decide for yourself what might be lurking in those depths. The haunting ruins of Urquhart Castle rise from a nearby promontory, dramatic and unforgettable against the Highland sky. After a lovely lunch in the charming coastal town of Mallaig, the day brings one more wonder: the soaring stone arches of the Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous by the Harry Potter films and breathtaking in any light. The day ends in Fort William, nestled beneath the great bulk of Ben Nevis, where a traditional Scottish pub dinner awaits.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodations: Boutique Hotel, Fort William

DAY 6 - WEST HIGHLAND LINE & GLASGOW

This morning delivers what many consider the most beautiful train journey on earth. The West Highland Line winds out of Fort William through a landscape so wild and remote it feels like traveling back in time: past glassy lochs, over windswept moorlands, through mountain passes where no road has ever been built. It's the kind of journey where you forget to check your phone because the window is simply too spectacular to look away from. By afternoon, the train delivers you into Glasgow, Scotland's largest and most vibrant city. A guided walking tour through the Victorian architecture of the merchant district brings the city to life, and the evening is yours to celebrate. A farewell dinner of Scottish delicacies, perhaps finished with one last dram of whisky, sends this unforgettable week out in style.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodations: Boutique Hotel, Glasgow

DAY 7 - FAREWELL AND DEPARTURE

Morning comes too soon, as it always does at the end of a journey this good. After a final breakfast with your new friends, private transportation delivers you to Edinburgh Airport (EDI) for your flight home. You'll carry Scotland with you: the smell of the Highlands, the sound of the wind across a loch, the warmth of a table full of women who became something more than travel companions. The world looks a little wider now, and the next adventure is already calling.
