Trafalgar + Gutsy Women Travel Announcement

Gutsy Women Travel Connoisseur
  June 2011

Go Gutsy!
Say "ciao" this fall with Gutsy Women's Tuscany...

A few places are available on our Super Tuscany Plus Cinque Terre in Liguria and the same package that includes Rome this coming October.

While in Montecatini, you will unpack only once, staying 7 nights in the heart of the city as you take daily trips to explore the surrounding areas.  We include a day trip to Florence, where you will visit the Duomo and have lunch at the Bruneleschi Hotel, followed by a visit to the San Lorenzo Market.  Your group will marvel at the Statue of David by Michelangelo in the Academy of Fine Arts before continuing to the open-air art museum of Signoria Square.

You will experience Cinque Terre, a beautiful area along the Ligurian Coast named for the five small villages suspended between the earth and the sea.  Nestled in cliffs overlooking the hills and seas, these villages create a beautiful photo opportunity.  Some of Italy’s finest wines are grown in this area, making it one of Italy’s hidden gems.  On your day at leisure, you can enjoy a funicular ride to Montecatini Alto and marvel at the city’s ambiance, or perhaps you will choose to visit one of the town's renowned spas, famous for their spring waters, thermal mud baths and treatments.

Whether you’re looking to experience food, culture, architecture, or a memorable travel opportunity of a lifetime- this vacation package is for you!

If looking to make your trip last a bit longer you can opt for the extension to Rome with our Super Tuscany Plus Cinque Terre in Liguria & Roman Holiday tour.  On the Roman Holiday extension you will visit Vatican City, St. Peters Basilica, ancient Roman buildings, the Pantheon, and the Trevi Fountain among many other things.

Reserve your spot on our October Italy departures today!

Meet Angi Hager...

As an avid traveler I wasn’t sure what to expect from my first tour with Gutsy Women.  I searched the available options and found the tour to Amalfi Coast.  It sounded like a wonderful new adventure and was I right.

I was met at the airport by the local guide, Guilana.  She greeted me with a big smile and introduced me to another lady from the group. Within a few minutes another of the ladies arrived and we made our way to the taxi. Between snapping pictures of the beautiful scenery between the Naples and Sorrento, we talked non-stop. By the time we reached the hotel, I knew I had made the right choice.  I felt I had already made two new friends. Little did I know at that time that all of us would have such a fabulous time and that the camaraderie would make it seem as though we had known each other from before.

Each day was filled with fun and excitement. A visit to two different ruins sites, a working buffalo ranch, Italian cooking class, the Blue Grotto and my favorite, Positano, all made for a different experience each day. The flexibility to opt out of a tour to simply relax is also a welcome change of pace. The bonus downtime allowed for an adventurous soul to explore the local goods and food not to mention learning more about the ten other ladies from the group.

From the welcome reception and dinner to the final farewell, I was amazed at the places and people I met. This was one of the most incredible adventures I have had. This is one “must see” trip with Gutsy Women!

Here’s to the ladies from the April Amalfi Coast tour!  Best wishes and hope to see you all in Greece next spring.

Countdown to 2012 vacation planning begins...

Hello Ladies,

I just returned from our California Coast experience and had the opportunity to meet 20 women who shared the love of  Highway 101 and all its splendor (not to mention the wineries along the way!)  I was fortunate to accompany this trip as I discovered many of you have questions on the upcoming 2012 season now that we partnered with Trafalgar.

I entered this partnership after the Cairo insurrection. While there, I witnessed Trafalgar being one of the few companies providing a company charter to secure their clients out of harms way.  Having grown significantly from the first client processed in November, 2001, it was a positive move to align with a global company that has the resources to compete in this global economy. Trafalgar also brings a suite of companies to Gutsy's doorstep such as Uniworld River Cruises, Lion World Travel specializing in Africa and Brendan Vacations for independent travel so we can expand the variety of programs being offered to women.

I have retained 100% ownership of Gutsy Women while Trafalgar "powers" the operation supporting the brand with a full color brochure, documents  accompanied by our popular tote bag, travel wallet and luggage tags. They will increase our reach to women in other English speaking  countries such as Australia, the UK and Canada. This in and of itself will enrich the gutsy women experience and establish the company as the leading one-stop shop for women's travel programs.

The tours being designed exclusively for Gutsy Women follow our signature formula with a mandatory component of a unique inclusion that women could not do on their own. It will be of the same quality offered for the past 10 years. Trafalgar has staff and offices worldwide thus eliminating the nuances of dealing with multiple operators.

We will still remain a small group sized company, with a minimum to operate of 15 women and a maximum of 28 women. On average, our group size will be in the area of 20 participants.  Having traveled on over 25 tours since I started the company, I truly believe this group size will help the solo traveler.  This sizing also enables us to extend an automatic 5% savings to all past travelers AND if you book earlier than later, additional discounts are possible.

For 2012, tour arrival and departure transfers will be included as long as you arrive when the tour begins and ends.  And, we will have air contracts with every airline imaginable to facilate your airfare needs.

Trafalgar, Lion World Travel and Uniworld representatives will be joining our 10th Anniversary weekend in November and available to answer any questions you may have. In the meantime, I have completed two visits to our new headquarters and planning a third the first week of July to complete training prior to the July 15th launch.

As of July 15th, our dedicated reservation staff exclusive for Gutsy Women will be able to answer your questions and book your 2012 vacation packages. Our 2012 calendar is currently posted online for your review. Our phone number 866 464 8879 will remain the same however you will be given choices to press 1 to reach the sales team for 2011 vacations, press 2 for 2012 River Cruises, press 3 for 2012 Africa Safaris and press 4 for all other inquiries for 2012 .

Gutsy Women has been " my baby" for 10 years and appreciate the loyalty and trust you have demostrated over the years.  I am thrilled on what is to come for you and women's travel....let the countdown begin!

Cheers,
April
