Day 1: Reykjavik
Welcome to Iceland! Upon arrival, take your included transfer to the hotel. Once you are settled in you may want to spend some time exploring this eclectic city. Reykjavik is known for its art scene as well as its nightlife and is also home to many museums.
Day 2: Reykjavik
Relax this morning in the waters of the Blue Lagoon. Fed by geothermal seawater from deep under the lava, the warm waters of the Blue Lagoon are rich in silica, algae, and minerals that soften and rejuvenate the skin. Enjoy a few hours relaxing and exploring the site’s amenities before returning to Reykjavik. This evening, meet your Local Leader at the welcome meeting before heading out on the town for your first authentic meal as a group! (b,d)
Day 3: Reykjavik
Today we travel out to Children's Waterfall to learn about the legend behind the name of this enchanting spot. Enjoy the scenery before heading out to the warmest thermal spring where you will have a chance to soak and relax in Krauma Thermal Baths. Afterwards we'll make our way back to Reykjavik. The evening is yours to explore! (b)
Day 4: Golden Circle - Hveragerdi
Today, explore the world-famous Golden Circle. Begin in Thingvellir National Park, home to the oldest active parliament in the world — and the meeting place of two tectonic plates. En route to the famed Geysir, we stop at a geothermal bakery for a unique culinary experience. Take in the stunning Strokkur geyser and Old geyser; our last stop is the iconic Golden Waterfall, Gullfoss. Our home tonight is an eco-farmhouse in the town of Hveragerdi. (b)
Day 5: Westman Islands
The Westman Islands are home to an awe-inspiring landscape of volcanoes, lava and windswept cliffs. We journey there by ferry, getting to know the history and the locals. To complete our experience, we visit the Eldheimar Museum before returning to the mainland. We enjoy dinner at our farmhouse accommodation tonight. (b, d)
Day 6: Hvolsvöllur > Skaftafell > Hofn
Visit the stunning Skogafoss waterfall, where you can journey up a nearby staircase for some breathtaking views. Enjoy the unique landscape of Reynisfjara before we travel onwards to Skaftafell National Park. From here it is not far to our overnight lodge stay, picturesquely located by the edge of Vatnajokull glacier. (b)
Day 7: Þakgil Canyon > Hofn
Discover one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls on a morning hike up to the elegant Svartifoss. This afternoon, we'll cruise between jagged icebergs in Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. Tonight is yours to relax in the countryside. (b)
Day 8: Hofn > Reykjavik
We'll journey back towards the capital today, stopping along the way at a sheep farm and wool tannery to learn about this country's age-old methods. After, we'll view the results at a mill where we witness how the naturally-colored yarn is used to create famous Icelandic textiles. We also visit a horse farm, where you can learn more about the Icelandic horses. Once back in Reykjavik, enjoy the final night of your Icelandic adventure. (b)
