Day 1: Cairns, Queensland, Australia Welcome to Australia! Gather this evening with your Local Leader and fellow travelers for a welcome meeting and group dinner. (d)
Day 2: Cairns > Cape Tribulation > Cairns We head into the rainforest today at Cape Tribulation, located within Daintree National Park. Embark on a nature walk with an Insider Expert to view the flora and fauna, before heading out to search for crocodiles on a Daintree River Cruise. (b, l)
Day 3: Great Barrier Reef Today we visit a lesser known area of the Great Barrier Reef – the Frankland Islands Reef, where only 100 guests per day are allowed. Led by a local marine biologist Insider Expert, you can snorkel, dive,* or cruise on the glass bottom boat to explore this underwater wonderland. (b, l)
Day 4: Cairns > Sydney A flight takes us to Sydney this morning. The rest of the day is yours, unscripted, to delve into everything that Sydney has to offer. Option to experience the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb. (b)
Day 5: Sydney Today is yours. Perhaps you’ll climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge, journey through the Botanical Gardens or sip a cocktail at the world-famous Opera Bar overlooking Circular Quay. Optional day trip to experience Hunter Valley wine country for a private wine tasting experience, followed by an optional performance in the evening at the Sydney Opera House. (b)
Day 6: Sydney After a short walking tour of Sydney, we’ll head to Bondi Beach to explore the white-sand beaches, boutique shops and scenic walkways. Tonight, gain a new perspective of Sydney Harbour during an evening Harbour cruise. (b, d)
Day 7: Sydney, Australia > Queenstown, New Zealand Crossing the Tasman Sea, we’ll arrive in Queenstown, NZ. As the Kiwis say, Kia Ora! Surrounded by mountains, Queenstown is the adventure hub of New Zealand. Spend the evening exploring the energetic city center and its unique bars and restaurants. (b)
Day 8: Queenstown Choose your adventure today! You may opt to bungy jump, white water raft, cruise on a jet-boat or take all-terrain vehicles into the countryside. Keen to relax? Wine tastings and other day excursions will be available. Your Local Leader will help guide the way. (b)
Day 9: Queenstown > Milford Sound > Queenstown A full day excursion by boat to famed Milford Sound today brings us up close to stunning fjords, incredible scenery and diverse wildlife. (b, l)
Day 10: Queenstown > Mt Cook > Christchurch Our journey through the South Island will take us by way of Mt Cook to the city of Christchurch. We’ll stop for lunch at a local farm along the way. (b, l)
Day 11: Christchurch > Hamner Springs Enjoy an unscripted morning! This afternoon we head north to Hamner Springs to enjoy thermal pools and hot springs known to have healing properties. (b)
Day 12: Hamner Springs > Kaikoura > Nelson A short drive brings us to Kaikoura, a stunning seaside town teeming with sea life. Explore the waters by kayak or take part in a whale watching cruise. Our adventure then continues north along the coast and into wine country, for a tasting. (b)
Day 13: Nelson > Abel Tasman National Park > Nelson Head to spectacular Abel Tasman National Park this morning. Explore the golden sands and native forest as we journey by kayak in the crystal waters, followed by a picnic lunch and nature walk. Tonight, we’ll come together to toast our adventure. (b, l, d)
Day 14: Nelson > Picton > Wellington Today we travel to Picton to catch a ferry ride to Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, on the North Island. The rest of your afternoon is free to explore. Overnight in Wellington. (b)
Day 15: ur adventure ends today as we depart Wellington for home. Departure back to LAX. Due to International dateline arrive same day back to USA late in the afternoon (Jan 21)
